How High The Moon, How Deep The Ocean, I Never Knew Til Now

I don't work well under pressure.

And I have a feeling i'll be under a lot of it soon.

As much as I'm looking forward to getting started on the actual production of this album, I'm already starting to make myself sick over re-thinking every single song I've thought of using or re-working. Not to mention how to complete the new set of songs I've started. Answers are coming soon though, at least about a few things.

Daniel and I will be talking over the phone sometime in the next few days on how we're getting things started, which I'm really looking forward to.
Tugrul will be home on Sunday or Monday as well, which is very exciting. I hope to have some news for him when he arrives.

But above all this post is mostly a reminder to myself.

To stay true to myself, to keep a clear vision, and make sure everyone involved in this project knows that's how it is and I have no interest in changing it because of creative differences. I mean that in the best way possible.

And to make that clear to everyone who's going to be involved in this project/band with me.

Now lets remember a bright image to help bring a peaceful sleep.

Lately Funny Things Arise, And Maybe We'll See Stars Tonight.

The songs are coming very slowly, but well.

I'm excited to get them rolling with Tugrul, he'll be home on the 1st of Feb.

Problems seem to be arising, many options for the future and how this album will come to life.

But never fear, one way or another music will reach your ears by December. It seems far now, but it'll all creep up way too fast.

More on everything soon.

Hats Off And Applause To Rogues And Evolution

So, as of tomorrow I'm starting recording on the last 5 songs to ever be written for On The White Shores.

I Never thought i'd be doing this again, not for this album. But life has been full of wonderful little surprises lately. The strangest part of it all is this is the first time I remember being this happy about recording. There's a relaxed feel to it that i've never felt before. Also i've never recorded this fresh before, they're all going to be recorded just days after being written, and then fixed up and filled in as I move along. So a new approach for a new year, and I've never felt closer to my goal.

Wish me luck.

I'll try to keep updating.

Your Thoughts Still Bring Flowers For My Brain

It's been a very long time since the update. Lots has happend since!
we had the show
Tugrul left for Turkey
I went to mexico for christmas
New Years happened
and I decided to write a few more songs for the album.

Happy 2009 everyone!
I hope this year is going to be as epic as it feels like it is.

First of all, here's a rough idea of some of the albums I think people should listen to from 2008

You Are My Sunshine - Copeland

Dwell - The Envy Corps

Drunk Like Bible Times - Dear and The Headlights

The Baroness - Sarah Slean

Oceans Will Rise - The Stills

Man In The Machine - Royworld

Sound In Silence - Glint

Viva La Vida - Coldplay

Swimming - French Kicks

Season of Poison - Shiny Toy Guns

Brain Thrust Mastery - We Are Scientists

Now, this is very rough..I'm very bad at finding good music the year it comes out, usually how it goes is i'll find a bunch of great 2008 records I missed in mid 2009.

Most of the music that made my year was spread all over the years, but I had to pick some off the top of my head for 2008 releases just because everyone is doing it, not all of these albums offer great songs all the way through (excluding Copeland, Dear and the Headlights, and Envy Corps) but they're all offering something I very much enjoyed.

I thought i'd do a list of Top Shows of 2008 as well. So let me think....

Radiohead - Thunderbird Stadium

Idiot Pilot - WHaMM in April (I saw them 4 times this year, so I picked my fav out of those 4)

Ryan Adams - Paramount Theater

Sarah Slean - Vancouver East Cultural Center (Can't Find Pictures of the Night)

There's some pictures to tide you over til next time, I'll keep everyone updated on the new songs and how everything progresses.
