It Hits Deeper, It Does Me No Harm.

Working on some half baked song ideas, lots of programming...lots of piano, and groove.

Things have been moving slowly, I'm really trying not to push myself too hard, because I know what happens when I do.

But I'm really excited about these new ones. I think they'll fit nicely on the album, I'm working on a couple that are quite compact in length, roughly probably 3 and a half minutes, which is odd for me. None of them scream "single" or "hit", they're more of just another piece of music i'm proud to have in my collection and hopefully ears will hear it one day and it will move someone in a way words can't describe, that's what all artists hope I think.

This week in the summer so far though is really really hot, too hot to think. And It's hard to want to sit in a basement working on music when you could be out enjoying the sun while it lasts. Always leave time to breathe, I say. Just make sure you don't ignore any ideas that might come your way.

I Need A Rooftop I Can Look From, Or Jump Off

So things have been pretty consistently busy over here.

Over the last few weeks Daniel and I have been going back and forth over the phone/e-mails with lots of things involving song choices, contracts, grants...lots of album related things. Not only has all that been going on, which I might talk about more later when it's all finalized (hopefully in a couple of days) but I've also been writing new parts and songs to go with this album, to really make it shine. A whole new task is going to open up after writing and demoing is finished, and that's finding a single...if we can't find one, we have to write one, or I do...time will tell. I'm excited for this though, I like a challenge.

Writing a song that has sale value and that will appeal to a wider audience without straying too far if at all from the concept and feel of the album.

I've also at the same time (which hasn't been easy) trying to relax and enjoy time in the sun and with friends, because it is summer time. And it also could be the last change I have to do so for a while, especially once the fall starts and I head out to Ontario.

So many aspects are growing and growing, lots of exciting stuff to talk about soon, it's all a little premature right at the moment...but i'll share soon.

That's Where You'll Find Me, Chasing The Dullest Light

I'm firing out the last ideas for the album, many new songs, many re-works.

Very dark, very pretty, very intense...hopefully.

I'm really really stressed about getting it finished in time, a lot of the ideas are have right now are seeming un-realistic, but I'm always up for pushing myself.

I'm going to be working in full swing to get these songs finished and sent out

On top of all this stress over getting it done, I've always got that voice in the back of my head saying "what if these ideas don't live up, what if these ideas are no good, what if Daniel doesn't like the songs I send him?"

Too little time, I never thought I'd say that.

Now I just need to sleep of this sickness so I can sing again.

In the mean time, lets put the pieces together in a stupid amount of time.


Daniel is sending the contract over, I will be a signed artist soon.


It's happening!

Maybe I just need a bit of help, a little bit of guidance.
